Freya Coffee

Freya Coffee is a new spot that just opened in an old gas station/service shop. It’s in a really unique part of town that’s mostly old industrial buildings, but people have been buzzing, so I figured I’d make the hike over one afternoon and see what all the fuss was about.

I’m a stickler for the staples. If you can’t make a latte or cappuccino correctly, then what’re you even doing. I went for a cappuccino today, and I was impressed. I happened to get a shot of the barista finishing the pour (see above) and I’m so glad I snapped that shot. Everything was so on point it would’ve been hard for it to be a bad cup of coffee. The pour, the flavor and texture were all 100%.

But that’s not where this journey of joy ends. The bathroom was full of wonderful surprises. First, you know me, I’m a fan of honestly. So the little signage on the door was right up my alley. I absolutely hate it when someone checks the door, finds it to be locked, then proceeds to knock… like that’s somehow going to magically make me not be in there? I mean, c’mon. These folks really get me.

Once inside I was treated to a near-tropical experience. There were so many plants it was almost humid in there. In most circumstances, a humid bathroom would be a pretty big red-flag in my book, but for reasons I can’t quite explain, the humidity enhanced the vibe. Plus, that much greenery is never a wrong in my opinion.

Now for the real treat. Cleverly hidden on the far side of the large rack of plants, was this clever little fountain, constantly tricking away. Hard to have stage fright which a constant stream of encouragement babbling just behind you. Hard to imagine it wasn’t a deliberate decision… and one I highly approve of. Real nice touch.

This place truly was fantastic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating. It hit all the right notes. The coffee was spectacular and the details at every turn in the bathroom really put this place over the top.

I’ve always said, the best kept kitchens start with a clean bathroom.
